The Newest SFC Podcast Is Rolling!
The official podcast of Snowboarders + Skiers for Christ – a grassroots missions organization that exists to BRIDGE the ski/snowboard culture to Jesus by partnering with the local Church. In this podcast, we seek to encourage and equip listeners who love Jesus and are passionate about the mountains to carry out their God-given calling to BE A LIGHT in the shred culture. This season’s Podcast Series is Saving the Gospel.
The SFC podcast is back with a brand-new, thought-provoking theme for this 2023/24 season (and a title that might sound a bit pretentious at first glance – bear with us). Let’s nutshell this thing because who reads podcast episode descriptions anyway?!
Have you ever felt like there was a disconnect between what the early church looked like and what the Church looks like now? Have you ever thought about what it must have been like to live in the days that followed Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension – where the church shared everything in common and grew despite massive obstacles and persecution? What an experience that must have been!!!
It might seem like a dream scenario because, if we can be honest, sometimes it seems like the early church was captivated by something MUCH BIGGER than what we experience in our daily lives. Listen to the podcast wherever you get podcasts!
Collin’s Story
“Testimony is the biggest tool to experience God for the first time,” Collin comments.
Collin grew up going to church with his parents. He attended youth groups, church camps, and VBS. “I even watched Veggie Tales,” Collin jokes. Though he went through the motions, Collin had no personal connection to Jesus. He thought that church was just the right thing to do, so he followed along with his family. He even got baptized in high school because it seemed like the next thing in line in church life.
In 2018, after graduating, Collin moved out of his parent’s house and stopped going to church shortly after. He didn’t see the need to and had no interest in it. “I was kinda Agnostic,” Collin explains. “I believed there was a God, but I felt like he was putting me through the wringer… a mysterious type of God.”
