Here’s the invite: Take a few evenings in autumn to run like a kid, get immersed in a pile of leaves, watch the sunset at your campsite, or sing a worship song on a hilltop just before the stars appear. This is the season to feel the cool breeze, listen to the changing sounds of nature, hold hands with the people whom God has given you, breath in crisp scents of harvest time, be thankful for all the ways God has been kind to you and join with creation to celebrate the majesty of God.
Great, grand, abundant, excellent … They’re all words used to describe majesty. Sometimes, well actually maybe a lot of the time, we get so caught up in what’s going on around us, what we’re doing and our agendas that our perspective of God is simply a 3 letter word for a big deity from whom we’re rather disconnected.
This can be a season of slowing down your pace, an opportunity to reflect, an intentional time to pursue after and more fully know the greatness, grandness, abundance and excellence that God not only is but also fully gives to you. As you do that realize that THIS is worship. Breathe in the rest that is the very presence God’s Spirit. Experience the grace of Christ and generously give it to others.

HOW I EXPERIENCE THE ‘MAJESTY’ OF GOD
One of the things my husband and I have embraced and enjoyed since the early days of our relationship is hiking in nature. It quickly became a part of our dating life—a shared love that naturally grew with our relationship. Now, as a married couple, it continues to be one of the most meaningful rhythms we share.
Both of us work in roles that keep us focused on the needs of our community, which we’re deeply passionate about. But that also means we often find ourselves mentally and emotionally stretched. Hiking offers us a necessary retreat. Out in the quiet of the woods or the vastness of the mountains, we are reminded of how big the world is—and how small we are in comparison. It’s humbling in the best way. Every trail gives us another chance to explore God’s creation and see it from a new perspective.

We often find that hiking resets us. It helps us clear our minds from the busyness of life and re-center our hearts on the things of God. In those quiet moments surrounded by His handiwork, we feel more connected to Him. The peacefulness, the beauty, the stillness—all of it draws us closer to the Creator and to each other.
For us, hiking isn’t just a hobby—it’s a spiritual practice. It grounds us, strengthens our bond, and fills us with peace, relaxation, and renewed purpose. It’s where we plug into God, together.
It grounds us not only to the earth beneath our feet but also to the God who made it. And in that stillness, we find rest, renewal, and the majesty of God.

Worshiping God Out On The Lake
Lisa Jarvis, Founder, FaithFit. Time on the water and time in the woods is good for my soul. The daily grind builds up tension in our mind and body that we may not even be aware of, till we get away from it for a little bit. To me, there’s no place better to do that, than at the lake. We live near Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes recreational area in western Kentucky.
I love exploring the hiking and biking trails, and gliding across the lake in my kayak. The quiet of nature and the beauty of God’s creation grounds me and restores my soul. Even if it’s just for a day, make the time to get away and breathe. If you can find a body of water, go there! Stop and unplug. See what God has to say to you when you get away and listen.

God’s Glory And Attention To Detail
Nick Freeman, Freeman Media & Design My wife and I love nature and exploring the world that God created. From taking simple weekend camping trips to hiking down miles of trails to secluded waterfalls, Being outside and taking in His creation is a big part of who we are.
Autumn has always been a special season for both of us. For me, growing up in Northern Maine, as the seasons turn, you see the amazing variety of colors as the weather changes. Reds, oranges, and yellows become so vibrant that you can’t help but think of God’s glory and His attention to every detail of creation. We also spent time in Colorado where Aspen trees turn golden yellow while the pines remain a dark shade of green. Combined with the mountain scenery, the scenic route is more than just a good hike it’s a way to connect with God.

Fellowship Together And The Joy Of The Lord
Tim Cheux While visiting on vacation in England, we walked – as has become very customary for us as a couple during Covid-19 and beyond- to explore God’s creation and the wellness benefit great fresh air! We love to find new trails, new paths, and new parks.
Today, we found a similar park with outdoor gym equipment. We had the joy of the Lord in our hearts as we worked out in the adult playground, strengthening our core, increasing our vitamin D intake, and improving our physical and mental health in fellowship together through access to the great outdoors.

Respecting The Earth As An Invited Guest
William F. Holland, Jr. While browsing through a world atlas recently, I noticed the title.”Our World.” It’s our world to enjoy, but it’s God’s world because He’s the one who spoke it into existence. Psalms 24:1 I was amazed with the photography of all the places in our world that are filled with such beauty and astonishing creatures. The rain forest of the Congo river basin and the massive Sahara Desert that covers nearly a third of Africa. This glorious world of wonders is intended to inspire and draw us into a covenant relationship with the one who created it and maintains it. The breathtaking miracles of nature where whales and elephants move with such authority and grace. The privilege to watch a glorious sunrise or to walk along a sun-drenched beach and feel the majestic power of the sea is an honor given for us to appreciate. To drink His refreshing waters and breathe His life giving oxygen are all blessings from the one who loves His creation. This planet is a precious gift and as an invited guest, we are accountable to respect it.
